EarlyOrabegan with a simple, uncomfortable fact: most oral cancers are still caught late. Over 450,000 new cases are diagnosed every year, and more than 60% are found after the disease has already advanced not because the warning signs aren't there, but because routine screening is inconvenient, infrequent, or inaccessible for most people.

As a practicing dentist, our founder saw this gap firsthand: patients who brushed their teeth twice a day but saw a dentist once every few years, if that. The daily brushing routine already existed. What was missing was a way to make it count for more than just clean teeth.

What We're Building

EarlyOra is a daily-use screening aid built into a toothbrush. Using a trimodal sensing system electrochemical, optical fluorescence, and lateral flow immunofluorescence it analyses saliva for biomarkers associated with oral cancer risk while you brush, with no extra steps and no change to your routine.

An AI engine interprets the results and returns a simple, color-coded risk level low, moderate, or high through the companion app. When a result warrants attention, EarlyOra helps route it to a dentist for proper evaluation and follow-up.

EarlyOra is currently in early development, with a US Provisional Patent filed on May 6, 2026. We're working through prototyping and performance studies as part of our regulatory pathway, with guidance and mentorship from AIC PIE Hub.

Is this a diagnostic device?

No — EarlyOra is a screening aid, not a diagnostic device. It flags elevated biomarker activity linked to oral cancer risk and gives you a simple risk level low, moderate, or high. It does not identify or confirm a specific disease. Every result is meant to be reviewed and confirmed by a licensed dentist, who can determine what it means for you

How does the AI work?

EarlyOra's AI analyzes patterns in saliva biomarker data collected during brushing. Instead of identifying a specific disease, it evaluates whether certain biomarkers are elevated and provides an overall risk level such as low, moderate, or high. This helps support earlier awareness and informed conversations with healthcare professionals.

What happens if my risk level is moderate or high?

If EarlyOra detects a moderate or high risk level, you'll receive a notification recommending that you schedule an appointment with your dentist or healthcare provider. They can perform a clinical examination and, if appropriate, recommend additional diagnostic tests to determine the cause of the elevated risk. EarlyOra is designed to support early action not replace professional medical care.

Is my personal health data secure?

Yes. Protecting your privacy is a core part of EarlyOra's design. Your health data is encrypted during transmission and storage, securely processed, and accessible only to authorized users. We never share your personal health information without your consent, and our platform is built with industry standard security practices to help keep your data private and protected.
